James E. Rankin Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James E. Rankin of Staunton, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 3, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Doris "Dottie" Jane Spitler Rankin; his parents, Russell Landes and Edna Bolton Ramsey Rankin; and his sisters, Jane Elizabeth Rankin Grine and Diane Lynn Rankin Hinkle.
He is survived by: his daughters, Fonda Sue Rankin Persinger and Darlene Ann Rankin Strickler (Mickey) of Stuarts Draft; his son-in-law Duane Persinger of Raphine; his grandchildren, Zack Strickler (Kylee) of Staunton and Cody Duane Persinger (Sheridan) of Waynesboro; his great grandchild Tatum Persinger; and his brothers, Gary Lee Rankin (Sandy) of Staunton and Wayne Ervin Rankin of Staunton.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Henry Funeral Home (1030 W Beverley St, Staunton, VA 24401). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to Staunton First Church of the Nazarene (1307 West Beverley Street, Staunton, VA 24401), Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church (3204 Cold Springs Road, Greenville, VA 24440), Greenville United Methodist Church (126 Main Street, Greenville, VA 24440), or to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah (c/o Augusta Health Foundation, P.O.
