She is survived by: her son Robert Cary III; her daughter-in-law Linda Ambler (Sutton); her daughter Helen Jacqueline "Jackie" Ambler; her grandchildren, Jillian F. Ambler of Waynesboro, Rachel C. Henley of Christiansburg and Robert Cary Ambler IV of Staunton; her siblings-in-law, John D. (Annette), Beverly L. Ambler (Rachel) and Mary Ellen Womble; her pet Lilly; and her close friends, Charles, Ruby Dabney and Elizabeth "Liz" Wilkinson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
