He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Day Hartless and Annie Elizabeth Hartless; his former wife Linda Mull Hartless; his siblings, Stevie, Lucy, Nancy and Patsy; and his great-niece Hazel Ann.
He is survived by: his wife Sherri Hartless; his pet Peter Lee; his children, David Hartless (Dinah), Mandi McComas (Will) and Justin Hartless (Courtney); his stepdaughter Kayla Sholes (Joe); his grandchildren, Michael David, Daytona, Little David, Zack, Cody, Sadie, Sophie, Bentley, Jordan, Alayna, Kennedy, Lincoln and Nixon; his great grandchildren, Clay and Braylee; his siblings, Paul (Karin), Jeffrey, Jackie (Danny) and Jenny (James); and his siblings-in-law, Dana (Monty) and Jay (Amy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
