We bid farewell to Gilberetta Wanita Carter of Staunton, Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 1, 2025 at the age of 99. Gilberetta Wanita touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Myers Worley and Stella Frances Worley (Branch); her sons, Stephen Haskel Carter and Philip Edward Carter; her siblings, John Myers Worley, Mavis Johnson and Connie Henson; and her grandson Tyler Johns.
She is survived by: her son Daniel Carter (Barbara) of Staunton; her daughters-in-law, Christina and Nancy Carter; and her siblings, Larry Worley (Judy) of Stuarts Draft and Nellie Frances Hill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A burial was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens (116 Peaceful Ln, Lexington, VA 24450).
