He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Louis Briley, Sr. and Annie Eugenia Spiers Wilson; his wife Jean Bradley Briley; and his grandson Jonathan Brent Smart. He is survived by: his children, Robin Gilbert (Robert) of Staunton, Virginia, Alan Briley (Shirley) of Halifax, Virginia and Wanda Walker (Harold) of Midlothian, Virginia.; his siblings, Ruby Grizzard, Joann Grizzard, Louis Briley and Fred Briley; his grandchildren, Christie Harrell and Adam Puckett; and his great grandchildren, AJ, Jace, Carlisle and Jonathan Harrell.
