It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dawayne Lee Werner of Staunton, Virginia, born in Long Prairie, Minnesota, who passed away on April 18, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Werner and Loretta Werner; his siblings, Robert, Ronald, James Werner and Pauline Casey; and his brothers-in-law, Tony Bruder, Oscar Jensen and Roy Casey.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Suzanne Botkin (Chris) of Fort Defiance and Patrick Werner (Amy) of Bridgewater, Virginia; his grandchildren, Hunter Botkin (Katelynn), Hannah Botkin, Logan Botkin, Jackson Werner and Emily Werner; his great grandchildren, IvyRose and Hazel; his siblings, Frances Jensen, Lois Bruder, Rita Barhorst (Richard), Barbara Cokely, Lynette Drager (David), Debra Fanning (James), Rebecca Meis (Gerald), Gary Werner (Karen) and Richard Werner; his sisters-in-law, Judy Werner and Sharon Werner; and also Award. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
