He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Willie and Helen Virginia Benson (Fox); his daughter Heather Berry (Benson); his grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Orndorff and Juilianna Fayth; and his siblings, Willie Franklin Benson, Bobby Herman Benson, Dolly Virginia Clark (Benson) and Stella Lou Clark (Benson).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Benson (Bartley) of Bartley Street; his children, Justin Benson (Kristen) of Staunton and Brittany Sears (Armand); his siblings, Tony Benson of Verona and Sandra Fitzgerald of Greenville; his grandchildren, Jonathan Berry (Wendy), Jeremiah Floyd (Brianna), Jarrett Floyd (Ashley), Jozilyn Floyd, Gabby Sears (Bobby), Jayden Vorgert, Daley Sears, Gracelyn Sears and Faythlyn Sears; and his great grandchildren, Weston Floyd, Layla Floyd, Braelyn Floyd and Brynleigh Fravel.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401).
