She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel J. Rachol; her parents, Fred C. Marcum and Margaret Marcum (Terry); her siblings-in-law, Beverley Ann Marcum (Shifflett) and Whitney Parrish; and her close friend Tommy H. Rachol.

She is survived by: her sons, Mark E. Brown of Staunton, Paul M. Brown (Christy) of Stuarts Draft and Phillip T. Brown (Michelle) of Greenville; her siblings, Grover T. Marcum (Janette), James F. Marcum of Staunton, Charles E. Marcum of Vesuvius, Joyce "Jo" Perry (Don) of Stuarts Draft, Margaret "Tooncie" Chandler (Robert) of Staunton, Dixie Parrish of Staunton and Catherine "Cathy" Crouch (Vernon) of Petersburg; her grandchildren, Amber, Aaron, Zack, Whitney, Hannah (Brent), Alex and Katie; her great grandchildren, Odyssey and Ezra; and her close friends, Donna and Bill Atkins.
