With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bertha R. Berry (Staunton, Virginia), born in Craigsville, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 6, 2024. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Edgar and Bertha Reed Rowe; her daughter Joyce Shannon; her sons-in-law, James Shannon, II and Tommy Mawyer; and her siblings, Odell Rowe, Solomen Rowe, Lewis Rowe, Randolph Rowe, Robert Rowe, John Rowe, Roosevelt Rowe, Gladys Michael, Elizabeth Varner, Margaret Ann Rowe, Earl Rowe and Helen Cash.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Dean, Becky Elia (Donald), Patricia Mawyer and Cindy Kalan (Jay); her stepchildren, Donna Summers (Bill), Keith Berry (Sue), Charlie Berry and Louise; and her grandchildren, Tammy Roberts, James Rexrode (Jennifer), James Shannon (Meg), Joe Elia (Emily), Amy Rodea (Laurence), Lori Hazlett (Kevin), Ryan Shipe, Beau Kalan (Rali), Sam Kalan, Lexie Kalan and Blake Kalan (Michelle). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many other extended family.
