He was predeceased by: his father Henry W. Obaugh. He is survived by: his wife Laurie H. Obaugh; his mother Carolyn S. Obaugh; his brother Dean Obaugh (Judy); his stepchildren, Lindsey Lohr (Adam) and Mitchell Childress; his nephew Tyler Obaugh; his goddaughter Blair McDonough (Bridget); and his pet Hank. He is also survived by several cousins, and many great friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Augusta Regional SPCA (PO Box 2014 Staunton, VA 24402), or the Salvation Army (1700 W Beverley St, Staunton, VA 24401).
