It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Arthur of Stanleytown, Virginia, who passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Posey E. Lawson and Josie Lou Lawson; her daughter Julie A. Arthur Doss; and her brother Raymond Lawson. She is survived by: her husband Earl Arthur; her children, Debra Arthur, Danny Arthur (Ginger), Posey Arthur (Donna) and Betty Jo Ransome (Louis); her grandchildren, Joseph Arthur (Crystal), April Arthur (McClain), Kayla Shelton Hambrick (Travis), Jonathan W. Shelton (Lesley), Hannah Doss-Lamb (Brian), Savannah Doss and Sara Doss; her great grandchildren, Brianna, Riley, Raylan, Mason, Maverick, Willow, Charlotte and Benjamin; her great great grandchild Little Richard III; and her caregivers, Missy, Dale and Sandra. She is also survived by other family members and friends.
