He was predeceased by: his father Robert Edward Sr.; his daughter Stacey Alger; and his brothers, Randolph Alger and Martin Alger. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Freeze Alger; his daughters, Bobbie Jo Alger of Stanley, Victoria Alger of Luray, Jennifer Shifflett of Stanley, Ashley Moore of Stanley and Monica Morris of Stanley; and his siblings, Barbara Bryant (Kent), James Alger, Deborah Breeden and Cathy Cardin. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
