It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Mae Souder of Stanardsville, Virginia, who passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Franklin Elliott and Ada Florence Leake Elliott; her husband George Thomas Souder, Sr.; and her son Louis Souder. She is survived by: her children, Loretta Lee of Stanardsville and Tommy Souder of Stanardsville. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
