It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shannon Dale Dean of Stanardsville, Virginia, who passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 52, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Vincent Wayne Dean; his grandparents, Elmer, Lorene Baugher, Bessie Weeks and Glenville Dean; his uncles, Ray Baugher and Clifton Butler; and his aunt Loretta Dean.
He is survived by: his mother Faye Baugher Dean; his aunt Shirley Baugher Butler; his uncle Freddy Dean; and his cousins, Dana Garrard (Knight), Audra Taylor (Chris), Tracy Dean (Bert), Pam Buttner (Troy) and Lenis Gibson (Craig).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Batten Funeral Home (12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 12:00 PM and from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Stanardsville Cemetery (289 Celt Rd, Stanardsville, VA 22973).
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Shannon's memory to Swift Run Baptist Church.
