She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Carter and Dora Carter; her husband Newman Embrey; and her siblings, Theada Dofflemoyer, Frank Carter and Bill Carter.
She is survived by: her stepsons, Terry Bruce Embrey (Lori) and Jeffrey Barnes Embrey (Kathy); her stepgrandchildren, Tamara Embrey-Czarnik (Simone) and Kaitlin Embrey; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Elisha and Ariella Pardue; and her siblings-in-law, Charles Embrey (Jo), Nancy E. Bryant and Kathryn E. Limerick. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
