He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, John F. Pattie, Sr. (Eula Miller Pattie) and William A. Keys, Sr. (Dora Liming Keys); and his uncle William A. "Archibald" Keys, Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, Keys Franklin Pattie of Richmond and Dallas Scott Pattie of Seaside, Oregon; the mother of his children Holly Bean of King George; his parents, John Franklin "Frank" Pattie, Jr. and Bonnie Keys Pattie of Marlborough Point; and his sisters, Kristen Sue Pruitt (John) of Spotsylvania and Dr. Heather Pattie Conyers (Rusty) of Gloucester. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.
