He is survived by: his daughter Sonya Rochelle (Michael) of Fairfield; his cousins, Richard and Roxana Parker; his wife Marcia Taylor; his daughters, Cassie Sherreė Holmes (Penter III) of Plantation and Justina Coleman of Fredericksburg, Virginia; his siblings, Tommy Vines of New York, Phillip Vines of Stafford, Virginia, Dr. Lois Cunningham (James) of Houston, Shirley Hawkins of Stafford, Virginia and Charlene Greenhow (Gregory) of Sterling, Virginia; his siblings-in-law, Reverend Malcolm Taylor (Teressa) of Richmond, Virginia and Jacqueline Taylor of Stafford, Virginia; his grandchildren, Penter IV, Felicity Holmes, William, Charles and Matthew Pope; his aunt Sylvia Hailstork (James, Jr.); his uncle Freddie Johnson (Helen); his close friends, Andrė Douglas, Cecil Holmes, Richard and Clifton; and his friend Reverend Georgette Agnew. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the A. L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home (200 Butternut Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22408). A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Shiloh Cemetery.
