He is survived by: his brother Russell A. Kind; his sisters-in-law, Lenore T. Schroeder of Tomah, Wisconsin and Marsha R. Cano of Stafford, Virginia; and his nieces, Kristin Starkey (Damon) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Kelly Stewart (Jacob) of Locust Grove, Virginia, Kerri Balduck (Aaron) of Spotsylvania, Virginia and Amy Snyder (Justin) of Burlington.
He was skilled at cross stitching and donated many of his framed works.
