It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Castell Phelps Garrett of Spout Spring, Virginia, born in Bedford, Virginia, who passed away on January 4, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Alex R. Garrett; her parents, John David Phelps and Dorothy Mason Phelps; and her siblings, Effie P. Moses, Mary P. Wright, Roy, Charlie, John and Calvin Phelps.
She is survived by: her children, William Garrett (Patsy), Robert Garrett (Evelyn), Alvin Garrett (Carolyn), Debra G. Scruggs (Dwayne) and Joyce Garrett. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
