He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Franklin Dalton; his parents, Jessie Bennett Dalton and Homie Eanes Dalton; his son Frank Torrence; and his siblings, Janie Blanks, Frances Motley, Lillian Barksdale, Effie Epperson and Gordon Dalton.
He is survived by: his children, Tommy Dalton (Melanie) of Lynchburg, Delores Jones (Kenneth) of Appomattox, Linda Almond (Donnie) of Appomattox and Melinda Amos (Ben) of Drakes Branch; his daughter-in-law Janice Torrence of Spout Spring; his brother Alton Dalton (Gloria) of Spout Spring; and his granddaughter Angela Ranson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
