We bid farewell to William Wray Shugarts III of Spotsylvania, Virginia, born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 25, 2024 at the age of 79. William Wray touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his former wife Edie. He is survived by: his siblings, David Allen, Steven Harris, Ann Elizabeth (Miller) and Janet Susan (Kirk); his children, Todd Eric Shugarts (Shelley) and Emily Louise Shugarts (Brent); his children-in-law, Shelley Albert and Brent Lockwood; his grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Kate, Evan, Adele, Rose and Jera; his wife Margene Sims; his stepdaughters, Stacy Sims (Steve Stanley) and Shannon Kindsgrab (Hans); his brother Steven Shugarts (Judy); and also, Rachel Emma Shugarts, Shannon Kindsgrab (Hans) and Stacy Sims (Steve Stanley).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Laurel Hill Funeral Home (10127 Plank Rd, Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA 22553). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church (7310 Old Plank Rd # A, Fredericksburg, VA 22407).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) or Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
