It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Eaddy Meggs of Spotsylvania, Virginia, who passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Edward Meggs and Janie Strickland Meggs; and his siblings, Anie Lois Hudson, William Meggs, Rhunette Liles, Juanita Coward, Jane Odom and Lynwood Meggs.
He is survived by: his wife Katharine Stanton Meggs; his daughters, Valarie Meggs Simpson (Craig), Martha Meggs Button (Keith) and Mandy Meggs Curry (Mike); his grandchildren, David Simpson (Kailey), Christopher Simpson, Janie Simpson Church (Max), Samuel Keats Rowell, Vandiver Ian Rowell, Kyal Joseph Curry, Kameron Michael Curry (Caitlin), Khristian Jacob Curry and Emma Katharine Curry; and his sister Vera Meggs Campbell. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church or James River Hospice of Richmond.
