He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert T. Rinehart and Lillian Rinehart; his children, Vonda Mae Rinehart and Robert W. Rinehart, Jr.; and his siblings, Esther Duncan, Wanda Hall and Kenny Rinehart.
He is survived by: his children, Nikki D. Fortune (William) of Fredericksburg, VA, Lori L. Owen (Bruce) of Fredericksburg, VA and Mark A. Rinehart (Debbie Stanley) of Spotsylvania, VA.; his siblings, Debbie Murray (Stuart) and Danny Rinehart; and his cousin Mark Rinehart. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
