He was predeceased by: his wife Annie Mae Anderson Hicks; his parents, John Hicks and Alma Hicks; and his siblings, Warren, Muriel H. Allen and Esther H. Grooters.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald L. Hicks (Nancy) and Carole Anne Hicks; his sister Ina Eley (Roy); his grandchildren, Joseph E. "Jeh" Hicks, Jason T. "Tee" Hicks (Kelly), Anne, Katie, Hicks Leary (Dennis), Christopher "Beau" Berry (Laurel) and Winston "Colby" Hicks; his great grandchildren, Hunter Hicks, Maddie Hicks, Teagan, Jake, Emma Hicks, Jonathan, Harper, Paige Leary, Emory and Madison Berry; his sister-in-law Ozelle A. Hall; and his friend Sandra Welborn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
