He was predeceased by: his mother Janice Layton; his stepfather Terry Layton; and his brother Jeff Massey. He is survived by: his wife Shelly Massey; his daughter Jordan Massey Baugher (Greg); his brothers, James Massey (Rebecca) and Joel Layton (Monica); his nephews, James Todd Massey, Jacob Massey and James Layton; his niece Amber L. Baldwin (Casey); and his great-nephew Leighton Baldwin.
