He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hayes and Margaret Hayes; and his siblings, Joe, Bob and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Sue Douglas; his children, John Hayes (Kris) of Denver, Pat Hayes (Susan) of Richmond, VA and David Hayes (Lori) of Spotsylvania, VA; his grandchildren, Riley, Hannah, Erin, Lura and Peter; and his sisters-in-law, Susan Hayes and Ruth Hayes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
