He was predeceased by: his son John Francis Lavin, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Lavin; his sons, Dean Michael Lavin (Michelle) and Jeffrey Alan Lavin (Gina); and his sister Elaine Schoell. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
