He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Johnson and Queen Johnson of Louisa; his wife Ella Lee Johnson; and his siblings, William Sr., Clarence Sr. and Doris Payne.
He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Strong (Ronnie); his grandsons, Matthew and Daniel; and his sister Lucille Brooks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
