He was predeceased by: his parents, Gardner K. Delano and Ethel Delano; his wife Betty Jean Delano; his son Robert L. Delano; and his brother Robert W. Delano.
He is survived by: his children, Sherri Purnell (Tom) of Madison, WI, Karen Delano-Johnson (Rikki) of Locust Grove and Gardner W. Delano of Los Angeles, CA; his sister Sylvia Todt of Fredericksburg; his grandchildren, Mykala Johnson, Elizabeth Purnell, H. D. Johnson, Thomas Purnell and Jonathan Purnell; his nieces, Susan Smith and Shannon Heffern; and his great-niece Lacey Wilson. He is also survived by numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
