He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Derickson Stroup and Alice Catherine Toner; and his siblings, Doris Jeannette Hunt, George Robert Stroup, Margie Stroup, John Hayward Stroup and Alice Miriam Stroup.
He is survived by: his wife Opal Reynolds Stroup. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg (810 Princess Anne St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401).
