He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Cramer and Francis Cramer; his sister Vivian Obluck; his son Donald Cramer II; his granddaughter Barbara Haarman; and his sons-in-law, Charles Huffman and John Haarman Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Vernelia Cramer; his children, Deborah Haarman, Katherine Huffman, Tina Goolesby (Timothy) and David Cramer (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Annette Mann (Jason), Chad Cramer, Christina Haarman, Missy Ferary, Daniel Huffman (Danielle), John Haarman III, Kimberly Foster (Nick), Kerri Stalvey (Joshua), Emma Joynes (Derick), Zeal Goolesby and Ques Goolesby. He is also survived by 16 Great Grandchildren.
