With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernice Mae Atkinson Thompson of Spotsylvania, Virginia, who passed away on December 17, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Atkinson and Annie Mae Atkinson; her siblings, Roscoe, Danny, Robert, George, Willie, Alice June Higgins and Lillian Morrison; and her grandson Michael Jon Kennedy.

She is survived by: her husband Kenneth; her children, Rick, Mark Kennedy (Karen) and Kathy Hart (Tim); her stepchildren, Lorraine, Roxanna, Terrie Lynn and Wesley Thompson; her grandchildren, Rachel, Eric, Patrick, Gracie and Anna; her stepgrandchildren, Tejera and Wesley, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Guy, Emmitt, Shawna, Hartley, Isla and Hensley; and her siblings, Raymond, Benny Atkinson, Ruby Merryman and Liz Ridgeway.
