He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wayland and Kathryn Wayland; and his siblings, J. D. Wayland and Jacqueline Anne Wayland Fox. He is survived by: his wife Amy S. Wayland; his children, Jackie Wilk (David) of North Carolina, Jay Wayland of Sperryville and Tiffany Wayland West (Corbin) of Reston, VA; and his sister Margarite Wayland Tupper of Washington, VA.
