With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Michael Higginbotham of South, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though David Michael may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Higginbotham and Oleta Verne Simpson Higginbotham; his sister Lynn Higginbotham Smith; his brother-in-law William "Bill" Smith; his grandmother Ruby Adele Simpson; his uncle Eugene "Gene" Simpson; and his aunt Ruth Simpson.
He is survived by: his niece Amanda Eliese Smith Stolzenfels of Surprise, Arizona; his nephew Christopher William Smith of Thornton; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lilliam Soo Stolzenfels of Surprise, Madison Eliese Smith of Thornton, Trevor William Smith of Grafton and Briar Anthony Smith of Thornton.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Glendale Cemetery (1500 King St, South Charleston, WV 25309).
