He is survived by: his wife Sharen A. Ward; his children, Denise Marie Ward Weber of Pomfret, MD and David Joseph Ward (Joy) of Chester, VA; his grandchildren, Rachel Denise Weber, David Joseph Ward, Jr. (Meganne Olson) and Jace Michael Ward; his niece Deborah H. Edwards (David) of Prince George, VA; his aunt Catherine (Lorraine Agrafiotis); his granddaughter Jamielynn Grace Mottley; and his pet Maggie Mae. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
