It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Kennedy of South Hill, Virginia, who passed away on February 15, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his former wife Louise T. Kennedy; his children, Marcia Cartagena and Darnell Kennedy; and his brothers, Richard Kennedy, Harold Kennedy, Chester Kennedy and Alvin Kennedy.

He is survived by: his wife Patsi L. Kennedy of South Hill; his children, Stacy Crowder (Joel) of South Hill and Steven Kennedy of Henderson; his stepchildren, Sean Wright (April) of Brodnax and Robyn Wright of Lacey, Washington; his siblings, Gene Kennedy of South Hill, Joe Kennedy of Richmond, Wayne Kennedy of Louisa, Lowell Kennedy of Ashland, Virginia Bridges of Beaver Dam, VA, Naomi Nichols of Camden Arkansas and Sarah Burnside of Coldwater, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Leigh Ann Basil, Nikki Kennedy-Amos, Courtney Borgfield, Steven Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy Dorbeck, Lauren Dorbeck Hurston, Emily Crowder Neal and Hunter Daniel Wright; and his pet Charlie.
