With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Boswell Lackey (South Hill, Virginia), who passed away on December 2, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Iverson and Mazie Butterworth Boswell; her husband Hal Vernon Lackey, Jr.; and her siblings, George Robert "Bobby" Boswell, John Iverson "Sonny" Boswell and Mary Boswell Furr.
She is survived by: her children, Hal Vernon "Trey" Lackey, III (Sydney) of Alexandria, VA, Stephen Boswell Lackey (Salisha) of Tampa, FL and Elizabeth "Beth" Carey (Randy) of Port Angeles, WA.; and her grandchildren, Ryan Carey (Abby), Tyler Carey (Brittnee), Hal V. "Boots" Lackey, IV and Max Carey (Mikayla).
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested to make memorial contributions in the name and honor of Elizabeth "Lib "Lackey, to: Monthly Missions: Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 536, South Hill, VA. 23970.
