He was predeceased by: his parents, Stonewall Jackson Cole and Betty Pry Griffin Cole; his siblings, James Cole, Lorene Wade, Hazel Watts and Barbara Ann Cole; his daughter-in-law Evelyn Cole; and his sister-in-law Erselle Cole.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Elizabeth Richardson Cole; his children, Nancy Lee Cole (Hooks), Robert Elmer Cole (Lanier) and Cecil Edward Cole; his grandson Troy Cole (Sherri); his great grandchild Emily Grace Cole; his sisters, Nannie Sue Chappell and Laura Mae Ferrell; and his close friend Inez (Cole).
