She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur T. Evans, Sr. and Maggie Gaines Evans; her husband Floyd Elam, Sr.; her children, Cynthia Elam and Floyd Elam, Jr.; and her siblings, Melissa Hardy, James Evans, Clifford Evans, Arthur Evans, Jr. and Russell Evans.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Elam (Linda) of Evington, Keith Elam (Reva) of Halifax, Virginia, Janice Tucker of Halifax, Phyllis Elam of Halifax and Magaline Barley of Gladys; her granddaughter Natalie Elam of Halifax; her stepmother Isabel Evans; her sisters, Alberta Miller of Brookneal, Nadine Evans of Brookneal, Gale Bolden (McKinley) of Brookneal, Regina Evans (Jeremiah) of Brookneal, Sylvia Waller (Garry) of Keysville and Rochelle Hancock (Calvin) of Phenix; and her siblings-in-law, Joyce Evans, Helen Price (George) of Brookneal, Hildred Hardy of North Carolina and Linwood Elam of Brookneal. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren.
