He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence Irby and Elizabeth Irby; his wife Nancy Nichols Irby; his siblings, Frances Roller, Carroll Irby, Linwood Irby, Ray Irby, Milton Irby and John Wayne Irby; and his grandson Glen Landrum.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth D. Irby (Shirley); his grandchildren, Nicole Irby of Halifax, Edward Irby of South Boston and Watkins Irby; and his great grandchildren, Eli Aaron Irby Fisher of Halifax, Kerrigan Reece Fisher of Halifax and Marley Jean Fisher of Halifax. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
