He was predeceased by: his parents, T. A. Vernon and Myrtle A Williamson Vernon; and his brother Owen Smith Vernon. He is survived by: his children, Holly A. Bernard (Bryant) of Danville, Virginia, Jason N Vernon of Alton, Virginia and Kevin J Vernon-Harris (Joe Coraggio) of Chandler, Arizona; and his close friend Mildred Brooks.
