He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Green Comer and Lonie B. Ford Comer; his wife Ottie B. Whitlow; his siblings, Raymond G. Comer, Andrew "Buck" Comer, James "Sam" Comer, Randolph L. Comer, Douglas A. Comer, Herbert "Tom" Comer, Freeman C. Comer and Farris C. Hudson; and his son-in-law Arthur M. Poole.
He is survived by: his children, William T. "Billy" Comer of South Boston, Danny F. Comer (Debra) of South Boston and Janet C. Poole of Virgilina; his grandchildren, Jason T. Comer (Ashley) of Alton, Michael A. Poole of South Boston, Tommy W. Poole (Kim) of Virgilina, Kenny R. Poole (Julie) of Appomattox, Holly C. Oliver (Jeff) of Roxboro and Travis C. Comer (Kara) of South Boston; and his sisters, Anna C. Glasscock of Buffalo Junction and Helen C. Thacker of Halifax. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
