She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodson Hughes and Ruth Nichols Hughes; her siblings, Frances H. Ramsey, Virginia H. Palmer, Catherine H. Foster, Rebecca Hughes and William "Billy" Hughes; and also Dr. Warren Cleaton Hagood.
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Ann Coates Satterfield of Danville and Rupert Dean Coates Jr. (Linda) of Danville, Two; her grandchildren, Amy Satterfield Wilkerson (Anthony) of South Boston and Charles Allen Satterfield of Reidsville, NC; and also Rupert Dean Coates, Sr.. She is also survived by Three Great Grandchildren.
