We are sad to announce that on July 16, 2024, at the age of 83, Emily Atkins Ray of South Boston, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Emily Atkins may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Emily Atkins touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Atkins and Virginia McDowell Atkins; her husband Scott Brann Ray; her children, Lisa Ray (Mark Dickerson) of South Boston and David Scott Ray (Patsy); and her great grandchild Amelia "Millie" ChildreyOne SisterSusan Atkins.
