He is survived by: his wife Martha Hunnicutt Russ; his daughter Mary-Margaret Russ Wells; his grandchildren, Madison Brooks Wells of Smithfield, Virginia and Russ Monroe Wells of Smithfield, Virginia; his brother John Willis Russ (Cheryl); his nephew Eric Russ (Brighid); and his great-nephews, Connor of Louisville and Emmett Russ of Louisville.
