It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Yoder Thompson of Smithfield, Virginia, who passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence J. Yoder and Edith Specht Yoder; her husband Robert Clayton Thompson; and her daughter Barbara Anne Purcell. She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Thompson Bishop (Ron) and Robert Clayton Thompson, Jr. (Patricia); her grandchildren, Peter (Kate), Andrew (Leigh), Darcy (Micaela), Phillip, Aaron (Amanda), Ryan, Olivia and Katie; and her great grandchildren, Cabell, Cullen, David and Anna.
