He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Joseph Treier and Sophie Rose Ostrowski Treier. He is survived by: his children, Melody Sandell (Ryan) and John J. Treier Jr. (Bradi); his grandchildren, Ty, Kayleigh Sandell, Aidan and Sophie Treier; and his sister Janet Wright.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P O Box 97, Smithfield, VA 23431.
