It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James L. Spratley Jr. of Smithfield, Virginia, who passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur Spratley Sr. and Sarah Lee Alston Spratley; his daughters, Paulette Spratley and Wanda Marie Spratley; and his siblings, Ida Rose Spratley, Lillie Johnson, Sarah Ann Robinson and Frank Lee.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Smith Allen Robinson Jr.; his nephew Wendell Spratley; his children, Jeanette Spratley (Pittsburgh Pennsylvania), Trina Spratley Brown (Toryanto), Nikki Nicole Spratley (Lawrenceville Georgia), Greg Ingram, Michelle James (Willie) and Monique Chappell (Wilson); his sister Eva Davis; his sister-in-law Linda Spratley; his close friends, Floyd Spratley and Bob Robert Pinkston; his sister Sandra Banks; and his niece Sheena Spratley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
