He was predeceased by: his wife Cheryl L. Watson; his parents, John A. Tatarka and Anna Tatarka (Nardo); his uncle Mike Tatarka; and his aunt Christina Tatarka.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Powers (Frank) of Oregon, James A. Tatarka II of Virginia and Dana Patton (Jim) of Texas; his grandchildren, Rachel and Zachary Powers of Oregon; and his brothers, Jack Tatarka (Susan), Jerry Tatarka (Betsy) and Jeff Tatarka (Darlene). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to one of his and Cheryl's favorite local libraries.
