It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Rae Gwaltney of Smithfield, Virginia, who passed away on December 27, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband William Atwill Gwaltney, Sr.; her children, William Gwaltney, Jr., Mary Vaz and Benjamin Thacker-Gwaltney; and her sisters, Margaret Woolman and Jean Duncan. She is also survived by spouses and partners.
